tangible and digital
I practice in theory oxymoron. Exhibition of the private, universal banalities, vital attack, depth of the dot, kinetic photograph, fictional CV, living artist, technician of the sensitive, social individual, frontal escape and other common paradoxes cross to found a real poetry.
My work tends to converge parallel realities to develop a visual writing that provide an original emotion and a divergent look at the world.
This research is conceived in a story and occurs in the present. Au fil du faire, my practice has shifted from painting to digital art.
New technologies offer both design tools and methods of distribution, but also can change our vision of reality while integrating them. Between tangible reality and digital reality, my creations are projected onto the network and materialize in installation.
More than a promotional tool, the site www.fredmurie.net represents a real exhibition space. It allows me to experiment and show multimedia proposals, interactive fictions that combine pictures, sounds, videos, animations, graphics, scripts and algorithms. Mastery of language and meaning of digital incongruous ideas lead to artistic proposals specifically absurd. Fragments of reality slip into virtual flows to divert their senses and reveal new presences. Behind the playful, the user is prompted to think into the network.
New media induce interactivity which questions the role of the spectator rather than deal with the work, but in the work. This relationship takes on another dimension in the context of an interactive installation by offering a quality meeting that no virtual exchange can not replace. The visitor's body is part of the work. It gives it life. Plunged into a contemplative action, it is the sense in action. These installations are complementary to my work online and bring into the abyss link between real and digital.
My latest creations confirm a desire to embody the intangible and mystify reality. I am currently looking at designing pieces offering the viewer interactive features that give way to a sensitive experience. It is about developing the potential not demonstrative, but poetic of technology.
